Delete your account

Permanently removes your account and everything stored with it.

You can do this yourself, from inside the app. You do not need to email us or wait for anyone to action it.

In the app

Open Vinyl Index and make sure you are signed in.
Go to Settings.
Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
In the Delete account permanently sheet, type DELETE in the confirmation field.
Tap Delete account to confirm.

The typed confirmation is deliberate: deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

What gets deleted

Your account and sign-in details.
Your entire collection, including notes and condition details.
Your friend connections and collection-sharing preferences.
Your push notification registration.
Your scan usage counts.
Your subscription record with us.
The app’s local data on the device you delete from, including the stored sign-in credential.

Scan photos are never stored in the first place, so there are none to delete. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

What may remain briefly

Encrypted backups. Deleted data can persist in routine database backups for a short period before those backups age out.
Crash reports. Diagnostic traces already collected are held by our diagnostics provider on a rolling window and are not linked to your collection.
Records we must keep. Where law requires us to retain something, such as a transaction record, we keep only that.

Your subscription is separate

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription — Apple bills that, not us. Cancel it on your device under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, otherwise it will keep renewing.

If you cannot access the app

Lost your device or cannot sign in? Email info@vinylindex.app from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. We will confirm once it is done, within 30 days and usually far sooner.
